Nothing crazy. Just an MS-65 Full Split Band 1945-P dime. I don't know what one would bring now, but I could have had one back in the early days of Teletrade but I couldn't swing the $2K. Oh Lordy, what I could have done with money and youth.

My thought process. Get the most-expensice coin and sell it to buy a whole bunch of coins I actually want.

The J-1776 would be a good choice, but I've
always wanted a School Girl Morgan dollar. In
fact there are dozens of patterns that I would
    like to own.

Wow. I vote for that half design to be reinstated. Pronto.

One reasonably rare trade dollar for me. I've always been afraid to invest in one fear of it being fake.

I'd like to somehow find the 1926-S St. Gaudens that my grandfather once had in his collection.

Being who I am, you would probably expect me to say, "1876-CC 20c" or "1878-S 50c" or "1870-S $1".

But my choice would be the finest known 1875 $10 gold piece business strike, which happens to be AU55. There are only about 9 known examples (including two horrendously low grade examples) out of 100 originally minted. There are also 7-8 proofs which go up to 64. The business strike and proof strike are both rarer than the 1870-S $1!
