I'd like to confirm the Overton number for this Capped Bust Half Dollar. I looked at some examples of O-101, 102 and 103. Based on the distance from the star to the cap I'm thinking it's O-101?

By the way this is my first one and I'm really happy with it!

As @lordmarcovan is fond of saying, that has a solid CircCam on the bust going on.

Nice profile and the stars are clear. Firsts are always FUN!…Spark

I always use a free web site called Daves Bust Half Dollar Site. You can easily lose an hour or two there trying to identify some of these later dates. Good Luck. James

That is a really nice Bust half regardless of the Overton number. Sure is some beautiful toning when light hits it!

Congrats on the pickup; I take it that's your first Bust half.

Do you have a link? I'm having trouble finding it.

    Thanks.

I got it for a great price and I thought about reselling it. But when it came in the mail and I saw it in person...

Same as my experience. Last week fine, today bupkis. Probably just a temporary problem.

I remember back in the early 1970s, we used a Lockheed Conitel SCADA system - paper tape bootup, 40K RAM. The administrator used to brag about how many operations it could perform per second and the low error rate associated with those operations. He didn't like it when I pointed out that a simple calculation showed it was making X number of errors per second.

My bad memory, it was a Leeds & Northrup Conitel 2500 system.

Looks to be O-116...small date small letters. Nice starter example.

Are you sure? It totally looks like a Large Date, Large Letters to me.

It's a small date small letters. None of the large letter reverses had the motto to letter relationship your coin shows.

After reviewing reference photos for the fourth time, I concluded you are correct. I went wrong comparing the positioning of letters in relation to each other. Thank you for your help!

@Mr. Numismatist . You know how "Kirk" was more comfortable with "Spock's guesses" than other people's facts? I think it works that way with okbustchaser when it comes to Busties. James
