Hello all! It's been some time since I posted a theme similar to this one. I'm calling this, "Tiny Two-Cent Tuesday!". I first came across my first two cent piece when I dug one, an 1864 "small motto". It was around 2010, and I was detecting by myself. I was so happy to just get one and didn't even know about this so-called small motto until I looked it up at home. It unfortunately has been sold. I wish I had it back now. They were minted from 1864-1872 with an 1873 proof. So far, I've dug at least 6 with an 1869 not dug. Here is the Wikipedia page for them. The only two I own. Was going to start a set but other priorities intervened. You can get a complete set for a reasonable amount of money.
I still have yet to get my hands on a small motto, or even see one in person for sale, but I'm always looking!
Sold one in the past. Metal detected find. If I had known you before, I would have given you a great deal.
Maybe in the fall, if things work out, I'll try to find the spot I found it in. I'll have to do some research first since I'm not entirely sure where it was. I remember the road but not the name.
LOL - Why tiny? This is 12 of the 14 I have. One day I am either going to add the other 2 to this photo - or sell the 3 extra ones I have.
