Some types are, yes. But the ones with this design, showing three figures on each side, are gold types.
Hello Nottsish, Apparently nobody has yet asked you to post a clear photo of each coin's obverse & reverse along with your accurate measurement of diameter & weight. This information is useful to determine whether the coins are genuine Turkish gold coins. As a second step, you could check if the coins are attracted to a magnet. (I think that true early 20th Century gold would not be attracted to a magnet). As a third step, you could have the coins checked in-hand by a knowledgeable numismatist and possibly have them tested for gold content. I hope you will post here & give closure to the question "Fake or real". Also, I should have mentioned that the World Coin forum at CT might be able to help with your question.
