Yeah, that is a nice looking peace dollar! I'm sure a less common date coin would be preferred, but it's still something beautiful.

Ill post photos but have to work at it digital camera blurry and iPhone won't send pics to my windows 11? I'd hate to get reprimanded again by Ed (paddy) I know Hawaii wasn't a US state in 1883, but the forum was Vault Box!
I haven't been involved in any of the vaultbox series before and decided, for fun, to buy two coins in the latest series. Due to some FedEx issues I didn't get my coins until this afternoon. I guess I told myself not to expect anything and hope for something. Well, I'm glad my expectations weren't high. The two coins I got were a 1901 Indian Head Cent (MS 64-RB) and an 1838 Capped But Half (XF40). I think that NGC was generous in calling the IHC RB; I've had ones showing more mint red labeled as BN. I have spent the last year improving my NGC IHC registry set (#7) and the 1901 would never have made it in my set; ever. So as far as value, if I sold both coins together, I'd be lucky to get back half the money I spent. I guess at least the coins have some value. Lesson learned.
Just discovered looking at my 2 1/2 gold coin in box was a 11-gram card saying series 100 republic of Vault box. I assume to throw weights off?
