I was off today and couldn't get that peace dollar I mentioned recently off my mind, so I gathered some cull coins and some other stuff to trade (common date coins just sitting around) and headed back to the LCS.

I got the peace dollar and this stone mountain commemorative half, which the owner told me they were in the same lot of dropped off coins and these were the best looking toned coins of the bunch. I would have to agree with him on that, as these are very eye-catching! My pictures don't exactly do them justice, but I'll try anyways.

All in all, straight trade for the peace (ask was $550) and the stone mountain was $80. I was thinking about buying an 1835 bust half (cleaned, higher AU) but couldn't bring myself to buy another problem coin after the '89-CC earlier this week. It would've just been an album filler because I want to pull my other bust half from my 7070 to get graded, but 2 problem coins in one week didn't feel right.

Anyways, here's some pics of today's stuff. Enjoy!

Nice pick ups. I’m not good with commemorative coins but it does look nice. The Peace Dollar looks to be VF-30 range to me. I could add either coin to my collection. Well done.

Thanks! But that VF-30 is harsh! Lol! This looks minimum of AU, likely low MS to me. I did say that my pictures don't do it justice, so there's definitely that part that doesn't help much. But there's definitely luster underneath that toning, and a few unfortunate contact marks, too, but she's certainly a pretty coin in hand!

Nice looking peace dollar. Tough to grade by a picture but it looks mint to me, lots of feather detail on the eagle shoulder. Really like the toning. Good looking Stone Mt also

If it was a fair trade for you, I'd say good deal, I like them. I'm partial "Stone Mountain."

I suppose the grade of the peace dollar will deserve a GTG post in a few weeks. I've been contemplating which coins to send out and she got lumped in at the last chance. Sending some of my nicer coins since it's CACG and they've got a strict approach to assigning grades, so hopefully they'll do as well as I hope!

Also sending in 2 crossover attempts, both Morgans. My MS-62 7/8 TF Strong, and the 83-CC that had just about everybody here guessing higher MS (and a fair bit of PL votes) but it got a 58. I'll be ecstatic if it crosses and upgrades into MS but I won't hold my breath.

Excited to see the grade of the braided hair cent my wife got for me on her trip to NOLA, but I put a "do not holder" on that one unless it's minimum 62. Otherwise, she can stay put in my type set and look beautiful there getting shown off to visitors who are big enough suckers to ask about my coins lol!
