I just saw a video on youtube on a 1994D wide AM, and im curious to know if anyone has found one themselves.
I have seen on youtube videos of UFO's, Bigfoot, Planet X, Loch Ness Monsters and levitating people.. so yes it could be a possibility Can you provide the youtube link? Or is this the video?
This is the video, I think: Let's have a closer look, shall we? Below you will see three images. The first is the coin from that video, screencapped at full resolution. The second is a Business Strike 1994-D, and the bottom image is a 1994-S Proof with the Wide AM reverse which all 1994 Proofs used. I am going to ask the reader to try and figure out why it is obvious that the Youtube coin is simply one which has been subject to sufficient die polishing to widen the gaps between letters.
I just watched the video and it's a normal AM . If you lay the coin plumb, then the wide AM goes away ...
This is the link right here Sorry superdave the video didnt come up the first time i loaded this page so i ended up posting it again.
I didnt think it looked like a wide AM so i wanted to see if anyone knew if it was a real error or a possible fake.
If you look on the poster's page, they also have a vid of a 1982 brass cent. I know the mint did some experimenting on different planchets so could this brass penny be a possibility?
Not only is it a possibility, it's a reality to the extent of a huge production run, since that's what they made Cents from between 1962 and 1982, only switching to the clad Zinc formulation during 1982.
Was the video of a 1982 D small date in brass? Until just recently the 1982 cents were known in seven different varieties 1982 P large and small date in copper (brass), 1982 P large and small date in zinc, 1982 D large date in brass, and 1982 D large and small date in zinc. But in the past few months a single 1982 D small date brass cent has been discovered.
