What is this on my 1966 Kennedy Half?

    Yeah, but it'll still be a mess.
    Why bother, though? Its only worth 50 cents.

    Well it's a 1966 so it is 40% silver and worth 2.52 in melt value currently.

    Cleaning it still will not increase it's value. I don't know about you, but I don't work for free.

    You could, but heating it enough to melt the solder would probably discolor it

    It's solder. Torch it off and toss it in with the rest for the smelter.

    Gonna find some nastiness underneath the solder/epoxy/whatever. It's only 0.2g heavy, and there's a lot more than 0.2g of coating.

    Someone got it hot enough to make the solder stick, so yes you can take it off. you may not get 100% of it off, but it would look better than it does if done properly.

    This coin is not worth wasting even 10 seconds on; throw it in your bullion box and move on...
