I just had to have some Uzbekistan coins. Oddly enough, I once visited Uzbekistan and the legendary cities of Samarkand and Bokhara.
As were we, visited the country twice as my son works for the foreign service and just completed his 3 year assignment there. Fascinating country and Samarkand and Bukhara should be on everyone's bucket list. I picked up their modern coins and a couple of souvenir medals ( the seller insisted they were gold and wanted big bucks for 'em. I'm like, nah.) Learned the fine art of bargaining. And the food.................!
Nice! A coin from Uzbekistan is still on my want list (looking for a silver proof, preferably graded to match my set, and not overly pricey; so it's a bit of a challenge).
