There is a listing for a large cent on e-bay that is clearly a fake. I have been trying to find the link to report it but can't find the "report item" like they say at the bottom of every listing. For anyone who has done this, how do you go about reporting a counterfeit?

If you scroll down a listing and you're on a desktop/laptop, a ? (question mark) link appears in the lower right corner. Then there's a Submit Report button in that popup. Then counterintuitively, "counterfeit" is not under "item not allowed", it's under "intellectual property infringement."

Then when you submit it, you will get an email that says there wasn't any problem with the listing. It's all a waste of time.

From other posts I've seen on here that does seem to be the case.

Sadly, a total waste of time. You can post the item on sites like this and, hopefully, inform a few, but realistically, someone will buy the item and get ripped off, perhaps never knowing it.

For grins, I checked and there are 5 listings for counterfeit 1895-O dimes (key date) from 4 different sellers, all in China, all priced under $30, all use the same images. In the purported condition, at least a $2000 coin. I look for these because they always use a reverse hub type that didn't exist until 1901. Am I supposed to bother reporting them all? If somebody actually thinks they're getting a $2000 coin for $30, from Chinese sellers with multiple available, then I don't care. Ebay sure doesn't care.

Again for grins, I reported one of the above. Nothing has changed since the last time I did this. It's a waste of time. The only way it will change is if there is a massive class action lawsuit or criminal action by the FTC or secret service.

Translation into plain English: "Shut up. We'll make money on this sale. We won't make money if it is taken down."
