The illustration in the Redbook shows the differences pretty well. Look at the top of the numerals in the date. If the top of the 7 is below the top of the 0, it is a large date, and they are called low-7's. If the top of the 7 is above the top of the 0, it is a small date, and they are called high-7's. Yours all appear to be large dates, and coin #3 is the most obvious, top of 7 considerably below top of 0. Illustrated on the same page, DDO's for 1969-S, 1971-S Proof, and 1972 business strike.
Thhank you for the help. I actually have the red book but I was convinced that one of those has a 7 that is even with the 0. The mint marks looked a little different and the shape of the zero did too. I am starting to see that my mind convinces me that I see what I am searching for. What a trip...lol.. thanks again
I used to have trouble with these until I seen my first one in hand. I'd recommend taking a look at one at a local shop/show, etc and then see if it clicks.
Cool, thank you. I will do that. I was in a coin shop in Birmingham MI. And I could not believe it, it seemed they had every major error coin I know ( which isn't a whole lot yet) It was pretty wild to see these things I've been searching forever for all in one place. I'll try to find one somewhere to get an idea.
