Here is my Salzburg example. AV Doppeldukat 1582 6.99g. 30mm. Salzburg Mint Erzbistum Salzburg Archbishop Johann Jakob Khuen Von Belasi/in name of Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II
I cannot afford to go on Holidays/ I spent most of my time working to pay auction invoices But, I could spare a day to have you over for a beer/coffee/good food/ and show you my colletion!
That last "medal" is awesome, reminds me of Lubeck 10 Dukaten. German States issued really mind blowing coinage circa 1500-1800s, the recent stuff is plain boring, they need to hire the mintmasters/master engravers, like the ones working in the mints during the classical period, men with artistic talent, also fine taste.
My favorite coin - there's so much detail (check out the feathers for example). It looks even better in person. Here's a maximum quality picture: http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/mys...p://images.pcgs.com/TrueView/32968343_Max.jpg
That is a gorgeous Hamburg 16 Schillings!!!!! Like I stated before, where are all the great mintmasters? There were lots of talented engravers/artists/die cutters back then.
