It's not #4, here's a side by side of " WE " .. I'll go through Wexler site and see if I can match your Date up to one on his site . God knows, he has a ton over there .
Ok Tim, check out 10 & 13, but I think it's #23 . Here's the link to Wexler site . http://doubleddie.com/384301.html
Boy, it seems like you guys would have better luck hitting the same number 5 times in a row on a roulette wheel. It's one of the reasons why I don't particularly care for these "itsy bitsy teeny weeny" doubled dies found on these specialty sites. Chris
Thank you for your answer and research you've done. I believe my cent is CCW. #23 and #13 are CW. You could be right with #10 but my coin shows a spread and the E in LIBERTY is straight. #10 the E in LIBERTY points upward.
It's a doubled die though. I'm a PCGS member and I believe it's worth the submission fees. Thanks again!
There's an extra bar under the L in LIBERTY on #10 as well, my cent doesn't. I'm not saying you're wrong, just stating.
This is the one I think it is Tim .. 1972 1¢ WDDO-023 Description: A close Class I CW spread shows on the LIBER of LIBERTY and IGWT. Die Markers: Obverse: Die gouges extend WSW from the base of the bust at the designer’s initials. Three short die gouges can be found at the bottom of the center fold in the vest. Reverse: A horizontal die scratch can be found above the left side of the M in UNUM. A die gouge can be found between the two feet of the statue.
