What color toning are they mostly? Rose, red, purple??
    Looks cool but almost unnatural.

Every chemical used on each of those coins consisted solely of atoms found in nature. What could be more "natural" than that?

Reminds me of a Monsanto ad from the late 70s.

However, man had to configure them to do something artificial and unnatural.

    A terrible thing to do to a pasture-raised, free-range, 100% organic... coin.

(I'm only teasing at this point, and I guess I should stop.)

Hah! I remembered the slogan, but didn't remember that it was our buddies at Monsatano behind it.

Which company used "Better living through chemistry" as their motto? I cannot remember.

@jeffb A college buddy had it on his dorm room door, as pithy druggie humor. That’s why I remembered it.

The first one, the 1897 doesn't look that unnatural. I can't figure what's with the backlighting through the coin flip though? ????

"I've forgotten more than you've ever known"

    Another classic line. :D

    Google is my memory. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Better_Living_Through_Chemistry
It's actually an adaptation of their original slogan. That and the Monsanto one were so easy for the druggie culture to run with, it seems that their marketing departments must have been clueless.

I remember about 50 years ago when I was a teen going to a Monsanto exhibit that I believe was in Orlando's Epcot Center. It was a round domed room with a 360 degree projection screen. The film clip started and showed panaramic views of mountain climbing, aircraft views from the sky, ships on rough seas. It is a good thing they had rails to hang on because it was instant vertigo while watching.
