You may be in for a surprise as I was. None of my banks take Canadian coins. Here in Connecticut it is Savings Institute and Putnam Savings Bank. I didn't know they could refuse to convert Canadian coinage.

Also good with Kennedy Halves is the 1987 and 2002+ (not issued for circulation).

As for the canadian currency, hang onto it. The dollar keeps dropping and the canadian dollar is holding it's ground. Think of it as your foreign currency holdings (it will probably have one of best rate of returns)

Well i have friends that have family in canada, i might just exchange it with them before they head up on their next trip.

I need to look through it though. I might have something decent in the bunch. I usually pull out the older stuff as i've gotten some canadian cents from the 40's and 50's and even got a 1979 cent with doubling on the reverse. FOr the most part, when i get a canadian coin in change, i just put it in a jar without a second look.

So I just picked up two more boxes of nickels. All 2007D again. This is going to be a boring weak until I get an off metal error or something.

My tellers open the box to make sure they're not brand new nickels for me. I think I'm spoiled. :)

Searched $15 in Pennies yesterday, found:
    1942D
    1944
    1958D

These rolls had the highest concentration of 60's-70's era Red cents in EF/VF I've seen in awhile.

In college I worked at a gas station in Mt. Pleasant, MI. The station was located in a "bad" part of town near a trailer park. There were alot of instances when peope would come in and use older coins, most notably peace dollars, standing liberty coins. I would always buy them, most of the time give them to my dad who was more serious collector at the time. I did keep two coins that I got. A Jackie Robinson silver dollar and a Statue of Liberty .50 cent piece. I asked the guy who brought them in if he had more, he said yes and he would sell them to me, but he never returned. I think he probably stole them.

Well I say "think" because it is very possible that people bust up their own sets or sets given to them. If I stole commerative set, I am a theif, thus I am probably savy enough to "unload" my stuff in a more beneficial manner. Either way, lucky me.
