Anyone attempting to sell coins or PMs here or anywhere else under my name is trying to SCAM YOU.

There is a post here offering to sell a gold eagle and a buffalo for $2880 each.

This is a scam as there is an identical post under my name offering the same coins on the NGC marketplace forum.

Didn't this also happen on the CU forum? If so, three different forums???

Edit - yes another thread here about that. I never even look at the buy/sell topics so I wouldn't have a clue if someone was doing this with my account.

See edit above. I do not sell coins. Anybody on here see me selling something, it's a scam!

It shows up on recent posts here for me, so I noticed it. It seems like they are going after older accounts to make it seem more real so one has to be careful. The people who had this happen to them could no longer login to their account to fix it.

This person (or group?) is committing wire fraud, punishable by up to 20 years in prison. I guess I should change my passwords on the coin forums. I recall one of these sites popping up as having my password stolen on some coin forum in one of those alert things but I didn't think anything of it - who's going to benefit from my coin forum password? Now I know.

They might be from a different country so it would be harder to go after.
And it isn't a bad idea to change that password once in a while.

Just changed it. Foreign country occurred to me but from what I've seen of their posts they sound very US to me. I suppose anybody buying gold that far below spot with crypto from an anonymous forum member gets what they deserve, but I hope this clown gets prison time regardless.

Yeah I saw the fake off with the super low prices! :( I doubt anyone would buy it anyways, but good of you to mention it, you never know! thumbsup.gif

A few people on the PCGS forum confirmed that they sent money. Someone also mentioned that the Bitcoin wallet associated with the hacker received over $12k on the day this started.

I believe it was last weekend I saw a post go up in the sale tab from an old member (by join date). He was offering one ounce buffalos as I recall around $400.00 below spot. My red flags went up so I sent the fellow a PM and told him. He replied that he appreciated the info but he needed to move them fast and that’s why he offered them so far below spot. That was all I needed to hear and dialed a moderator into the post and saw it disappear shortly after that. I do not know nor do I ever want to know what makes a crooked mind tick.

Strangely, every WTS post I click on states that I do not have sufficient privileges to respond. But I can't say that I've seen any offerings from your account. Not that it would really lodge in my memory because I couldn't respond even if I wanted to inquire about it!

I saw the same post I think and that's why I started this thread. It was probably from another hacked account. The thread has been deleted so you won't see it. The one I'm referring to was from an account armysgti. It was up for a couple days and was edited to say Sieg Heil.

Well, that's just somebody being a dilated digestive tract terminus. In my humble opinion, of course.

That's because there wasn't anything offered here from my account that I could see altho I didn't make it over here until Sunday afternoon sometime. I'm sure someone will correct me if there was.

When the simple spellings aren't allowed, we have to improvise.
