This latest acquisition, which arrived today, is a provincial which I was hoping to see come up for sale. It appeared last Saturday at auction and I won it. It is nor rare or even scarce but you don´t see them that often. It is a large, heavy coin which feels great in hand. Typical of the fragile times of the mid 3rd Century they were both killed in August 253 CE. The reverse has a lot going on with a river god and a leaping ram, but the detail of the carry-handles on a portable shrine is the item I wanted to have. Often this issue does not have them.
