Persian Satrap of Lydia

    This week a coin minted in preparation for war with Cyprus. The king, Evagoras, rebelled against the Persians after the the Peace of Antalcidas (the King’s Peace). This coin with a Greek goddess on one side and a Persian satrap or general on the other.
