Double Die and Misalignment Error?

    Really slight Misaligned die strike. Common and nothing major.

    I don't see any doubling.

    BTW, the correct Numismatic terminology is doubled die. Not double die.

    Ty e misalignment was caused by a worn die. I don’t see any but any doubling you se, as you have the coin in hand, would be caused by the worn die. No errors on this coin.

    @Bob sap …the first thing to do when you suspect doubling is check Wexler and Variety Vista for a match. If you had done this you would have learned that neither site lists doubling varieties for the 1972-D Roosevelt dime. Having determined that, a conclusion should be made that the doubling you suspected was not die doubling.

    The MAD is very slight and very common, no added value there.

    What you have is a worn and damaged dime. And yes, please, next time put the coin on a flat piece of cloth, cardboard or paper…not on your hairy leg. TIA.
