    This has surface issues, but I believe it is authentic suffering from a hard life. Research indicates it has the Reverse of 1868/FS-901, please correct me if that is wrong. IGWT and the date are rough from corrosion, but it has plenty of eye appeal and detail.

    I scrounged up a lot of info on the dies used in '67, '68 and '70 about the master dies with broken letters and the star alignments. Anyone see anything else from this one? Hope you enjoy...Spark

    I like coins that had to work for a living.

    Cool variety. I have 4 1868's all different varieties.
    My "raw" FS903.

    UPDATE: Because only the “C” and “S” of CENTS are broken, mine is FS-904.

    I am not so sure that this coin "worked for a living." It looks like it spent a lot of time in the ground dozing. It was dug up and cleaned. When you do away with the black corrosion, you get these surfaces.

    Nickel is tough as nails when it’s in circulation. That’s why you could still find 1939 nickels still in circulation up until about 10 or 15 years ago.

    @johnmilton
    I found this 1939-S in a roll from my bank within the last year or so.
