Being the amateur i'am it was giving me a bit of a fit trying to discern between wear and strike weakness. Thanks

The high points of wear for the Lincoln obverse are:
…the ear and the hair above
…the eyebrow, the nose and the cheek and jaw
    …the bowtie and the lapel.

I started collecting Lincolns in 1962 and learned these high points quickly. Along with my trusty Red Book I also used the grading criteria to begin to learn how to grade.

I quickly ramped up to IHCs, buffalo nickel, mercury dimes, SLQ and Washington quarters and Standing Liberty, Franklin and in 1964, Kennedy halves.

I was seeing the high point wear daily in change so high point criteria was applied across all denominations.

I was an amateur back then, you will learn too. You’ll gain confidence the more you work with coins, and the next thing you know you will be giving others advice.
