I have been out of the loop regarding USA coinage for the last two years, having been solely concentrating on my ancient collection. I cant seem to target a consistent price range for this coin. It has the GSA packaging complete with COA and I think grades at MS63. The prices are all over the place on the internet. It is VAM 5 with the bar under the second 8. Any guidance you could give would be greatly appreciated
NumisMedia/FMV lists 1883CC MS63 for $384.00USD, a fair base price. The OGP and COA should give a bump in value but, alas, it doesn’t seem to matter. From here it’s accentuating the positives and downplaying the negatives. Also minor is the VAM (not on the 3 top interest lists) so a minor bump is to be seen here. Overall value is around $390-415, imo.
The 82-84 years from Carson City generally auction on eBay on a daily basis anywhere from $300-400 each for a GSA slab in the MS62-64 grading range. Those that are ungraded generally fall into the MS63 range and I'd guess around a $350 average price. It really depends on how nice the coin is and how clear the photos are. Obviously, the nicer the coin, the higher the bids are.
