I posted about these two coins in another thread here where a member recommended I start a separate thread for them. I would like to have them graded and sell them assuming they're verified to be real. Which grading service should I look at using for them? /GALLERY]
Off hand, the New Orleans is a VF-20. The 1893 is F-12. In my humble estimation you should save your money and not send them in for grading. The return on selling them, coupled with the cost of grading would be abysmal......
Having these two coins graded will raise the value but when you factor in the grading fees you’ll get less than selling them raw.
@green18 is right because they are both borderline value candidates. The 1893 is approx $185 and the 1895-O is near $375-400. Adding grading, shipping, taxes, insurance…etc….sometimes doesn’t make sense cuz you may not recoup these costs when you sell. If you are set on slabbing, go ANACS for these two.
