Over priced ancients

    I agree that this thread has become pretty much useless due to these postings w/o explanation.

    I do have experience with ancients & really need to learn more, but have problems following this thread too.

    To be constructive, I should post an elephant denarius of Julius Caesar. Has a high opening bid. I think these coins are being price-fixed by someone. There's a population of at least 1,000 high-grade examples. But they're all outrageously expensive.

    @Croatian Coin Collector You have posted many links in this thread, but with no words of explanation, and no screen shot of the advertisement. For me, it would be more interesting, to see fewer posts, and for each post, to see a link, and a screen shot of the advertisement including photos of the coin and the price, and some words of explanation, and any other interesting comments.

    You can get a MS Hostilian for 10K

    It’s such a shame when a museum acquires these. Sooner or later it all gets tossed in the basement.
