    At 23,24 grams, this Afsharid Silver Double Rupee of Shah Rukh (minted in Mashhad in either 1748 or 1749) is my biggest pre-20th century Silver coin:

    At 53,55 grams, this Kingdom of Portugal Gold 20000 Reis of Joao V (minted in Vila Rica, Minas Gerais, Brazil in 1727) is the largest coin in my collection:

    I now have a gold coin bigger than the “Bermuda Triangle” I posted a page or so back.

    Numista-46426. KM-231.

    NGC cert #2924207-001.

    37 mm.

    .900 fine gold, 1.3544 oz. Mintage: 23,000.

    Overdate: 9 over inverted 5 variety.
