I think I should credit @Pickin and Grinin for this crazy idea.

This is a 1968-S nickel graded by NGC followed by an ANACS 1964 proof nickel. Scratches are on the holder, but here's the twist - the two are different grades, and you are tasked to assign a combined grade, such as a 20 and a 25 making a 22.5.

What do you say is the combined grade of these 2?

I can’t grades proof and a non proof coin for a combined grade.

    The 68-S is also a proof. ;)

    PF 65 (1968)
    PF 67 (1964)
...so PF 66 for the combined (average) grade

You can get the right answer with two wrong grades. Not a good test of grading skill to be correct “on average.”

My mistake. I read your comment and you only referred to the 1964 as a proof. The 1968-S was only noted as a graded nickel. lol
    MS-65 as a net grade.
