Good set @Codera , especially for less than 2 grands and in one year time ! Mine is a mix of silver and bronze too, all republican/imperial though. Q
Acquiring a silver Coligula is really tough. The one time I had a chance, two dealers at a show had a denarius, but the coins were messed with, and I just couldn't write a $5 to $6 thousand check for either one.
Well done, Codera. That's an impressively low number to assemble a set. I've only 4 at the moment. I haven't succumbed to the lure of 12 Caesars yet (though it's always there!). Do you upgrade ennui will kick in at any point? I have a rather poor Vespasian which I want to replace because you can get a very nice one at a very reasonable price.
You can't substitute rulers and still call it a "Twelve Caesars" set. The reason for the name is because of the book with the same title written by Suetonius. People interested in collecting this set should definitely read the book. Spoiler-- Tiberius is a monster. Well then, do you have one for sale so I can complete my "Twelve Caesars" set?
