These three Morgan Dollars were all given the same grade by PCGS. What do you think that grade is?

That's not what I think they should have graded them . . . it's just what I think they graded them.

    I say 62 because of the 1895-S.

I voted MS64, though the “rub” on each of the eagles breasts gave me pause and made me think I should vote with Mike.

MS 62 ...I'm thinking they all have some significant hits that prevent a higher grade

Some are better than others with regard to number of hits in the bank bags, but I agree that is what PCGS graded them at. I'll never be good at grading because I look at major TPG graded slabs and they are all over the place, sometimes there is no rhyme or reason. :D

I think the TPGs are a bit DEI when it comes to rarer coins. I see it way too often to believe otherwise.

I think they were graded AU-58 but that not the grade I think they should be.

I also said AU58 because there might be enough to give one of them that, and if one goes, they all go.

Especially the I for inclusion, seems like some common dates may not be included as PQ coins; you betcha some graders have likely overgraded a coin or 2 in their time on purpose. I don't claim to be the best grader - in fact, it's not saying too much when the coin I most confidently grade is a Lincoln cent; however, we can usually tell if something is shady. That's the eye of the buyer for ya. ;)

    The answer is MS-62.

I probably would have guessed MS-63. Thanks for playing everyone!

The gouge on the upper cheek must be pretty gnarly. (95S)

Even if given two more chances, I would still have been wrong. I’d never assign a grade of 62 to that 95-S.
