A fantastic find. I had to pay for mine. Edward VI (1547 - 1553 A.D.) AR Shilling O: (tun) ЄDWΛRD’· VI : D’· S’ ΛGl’: FRΛ’· Z : hIB’· RЄX :, crowned and mantled bust facing slightly left; rose to left, XII to right. R: (tun) POSVI DЄVM ·’ : ΛDIVTOR Є’· MEV·’·, coat-of-arms over long cross fourchée. 5.7g 32mm North 1937; SCBC 2482
I view Edward VI as "What might have been." He was very intelligent and well educated, yet his fragile health resulted in his early death. Here are a couple of pieces I have from his reign. A shilling A gold pound Edward's successor was the dreadful "Bloody Mary" who ordered to have almost 300 people burned at the stake because of their religion. This is a groat.
I have found 3 mary groats not as good as yours , three beautiful coins . I found a real nice gold gilt silver devotional heart pendant it had ihc christogram on it and it dates from affirmation of faith marrian period.
