I was doing some searching on prices for a NGC Certified 1996 W Dime, minted at West Point of course. I stumbled on to this item where the person lists a 1944 Mercury Dime thinking it was minted at the West Point Mint In his words.. quote "There's not much more that I know about this coin other then it's mint mark is West Point." closed quote He does not realize is that the W above the date stands for an initial for the designer Adolph Weinman! Edit*** Definition from online source "It's actually not a mint mark, but a very prominent display of the designer's initials - Adolph A. Weinman. If you look closer, what looks like the letter W has an A in it." Enjoy!
Not a bad dime regardless for $5.50. Somebody might nab it for that while the rest of us are laughing at the listing.
