Not sure if you're still interested, but those 2 chopped trade dollars are going up for auction Tuesday, May 20 at Newtown Auctions out of Stephens City, VA.

Thanks Doc ! It’s why it’s my favorite trade dollar even though it was artificially toned .

I had wanted a Proof Trade Dollar for a long time. The pieces were always too high in my opinion. I finally sprang for this one, which cost less than half the asking price for the last one I had passed.

Here are two views of it. Both are accuate depending upon the angle of the camera.

The is the juiced up auction house view.

Here is my picture. It looks like this in its worst light. The coin is an NGC graded PR-64.

That's a beautiful coin. I am looking for one too, but from the business strike years meaning $$$.

Beautiful proof ! I love proof trades as I can actually make out the 4th finger on Type 2 obverses , on my type 2 coins the 4th finger looks more like a part of the olive branch . Love the color in both pics . I have an eagle eye Indian head cent . It’s amazing the difference in colors depending on the light . Was it a Heritage auction coin ?

Yes, I bought that Proof Trade Dollar from a Heritage Auction. I was able to see the piece before I bid on it.
