    Careless owners is how it was damaged. An untold number of scenarios could be told about the life of this ASE.

    Probably some sort of a crude bezel. Why would anyone buy it? The nice ones are “dirt common.”

    Many years ago I spotted a silver quarter that had been hammered into a square in a junk box of coins for well under going rate for “junk silver.” A savvy junk box collector I knew, told me to stay away from it. The market price scrap, well below melt.

    But it was minted after the Gulf War o_O
