I’ve had this low grade natural wear 1965 Washington quarter for awhile. I haven’t seen any with this amount of natural wear and I’m wondering about its “lowball” value.

    Thoughts?

2026 Red Book does not go below F-12 @ .40 cents. Can you imagine where yours would come in at. If you are thinking low ball, I'll give you a worn-out nickel for it, I'll even give you my word that it's worth 5 cents, Scouts Honor! If my mom lets me.

I'm afraid the damage on the reverse would prevent it from getting a straight grade. Lowball collectors want only straight grades, I think.

Not worn enough for a P01 grade and as Jeff B stated it would not straight grade anyway. Images are from PCGS and are graded FR02.

I agree with the others...it's not "lowball" enough to get the coveted Poor 1 grade and the damage on the reverse would give it a details designation. Still it's a nice album piece for someone trying to put together a well matched circulated set.

The value I would place on this quarter is twenty five cents. It’s clad and not low enough to get a low enough grade to raise its value.

Interesting looking coin. For it to circulate so much and not be all scratched up is somewhat improbable so I suspect it had its rims removed. If you lay a naturally worn coin on its obverse it will rock very slightly but this one will probably move quite a bit.

The striations around LIBERTY at likely tool marks.

I collect heavily worn clad quarters and I used to see a lot more of them. When I do see them now days they are scratched.
