I guess I've been quiet for a while but in 2017 I just could not resist this Crown which I have been after for several years (mintage of 468)......I guess a belated New Year's gift to myself The actual grading should state PR as these were only struck in Proof.
Thanks. It does look good. I just need to find a nice example of the half sovereign to complete the set.
Well, I really didn't NEED another one but I really enjoy this 1907 5 Korona Hungarian Franz Joseph Coronation anniversary issue. For 40 euros I couldn't turn it down. Really like the reverse design of it. Mintage 300K.
Very, very impressive and hugely valued by New Zealand collectors. Most were not proof. From "New Zealand Coin Catalogue, First Edition 1965": "Total 364 proof sets containing crown, half-crown, florin, shilling, sixpence and threepence. The remaining 764 crowns were released to the public through the trading banks at seven shillings and sixpence each." "Krause catalogues wrongly list 660 regular and 468 proof coins." http://onlinecoin.club/Coins/Country/New_Zealand/Waitangi_Crown_1935/
Here are 2 that came in the mail on Tuesday. 1920 Honan 10 Cash with a Backwards S 1912 Fukien 10 Cash
Supposedly there was a presentation box that these came in, but I've never seen one (not even a picture of one). It's a great commemorative; I ended up picking up the Artex UP and non-UP proof versions last year as well.
