Wherever you send it, make sure it's properly insured for transport.

That is very kind of you. I purchase May 2 and it was delivered May 9 so would need to return by June 8. How can I contact you?

I hope all works out well and it’s genuine. It’s expensive but it’s worth the price.

I'd send it Fed-X and signed for. But needs a physical address for them to handle it. No way, no how would I trust USPS.

USPS regular shipping? Big nope. But USPS Registered Mail is about as secure as you're going to get. In no way is it considered fast though!

I sent some coins from Florida to PCGS in CA recently. It got there in a day and a half and cost me 10 bucks.:p I did not buy the insurance to ship there, but when I got them back I went whoa! I should have.

I agree with @No_Ragrets completely. UPS may be the way to go but it will be more costly.

    So your sending it back.
Jack really is like the last word, he said it's not right, you can be assured it's not right.
I'd send it back to the seller for a refund.
Tell the seller if he gets it graded/authenticated that you would like to see it again.

I know Jack would love to see it in person but I'm also in the don't mess around, get a refund camp. This is like buying a raw 1901-S quarter - if you can't match it to a known die pair, don't bother. All the weight, diameter and XRF stuff doesn't help if it's an added mint mark or sandwiched fake. Have you looked closely at the edge? Being desperate to fill that album slot makes you easy prey. Go back to the beginning with this - the seller claims ICG said it was authentic but he didn't want to spend $20 on a slab? It's utter BS. Don't be a sucker.

A hearsay verbal opinion from ICG is worth the paper it’s written upon. ICG slabbing is cheap enough that any claim as to why the item wasn’t certified is completely bogus.

Sorry to beat a dead horse here but I asked the seller if they could give me the name of the person they talked to at ICG and they said:

"I was at a local coin show Cornucopia and ICG was there and I showed him. I don't remember getting his name as it was very busy. I know its a lot of money and want you to feel secure in the purchase if by any chance your not send it back maybe I will send it in and try to sell for more."

I took a couple close up photo's this morning and with the exception of the die marks missing in the R and T, I honestly can't tell if the Date, MM or D are not aligned properly.

I greatly appreciate all the feed back I've received from the group. I'll either send it back or take Jack up on his offer.

Send to Jack if you have the time.
If you send it back to the seller and he gets it authenticated by PCGS or NGC and Not ICG, it would probably come back details...does the seller really think it would bring more money than it already has?

I think it could bring $10K based on the PCGS price guide and what they are selling for on eBay.

That would be a reasonable price for a problem- free high VF example, based on what I see on Numismedia. This is in no way a problem-free example.

This was sold on eBay at a much lower price. The seller could see the same price histories that you see, and may or may not have shown the coin to someone from ICG. Why do you suppose the seller let it go for so much less than your estimate?

Cornucopia is a small one day show that is held near Tampa, Florida on the first Saturday of every month. I have been to it twice. I don’t recall seeing an ICG guy there, but my sample size is too small to say for sure.

I think that Skip, a.k.a. @Insider is their strongest expert.

If real, NCS conservation may work on it and improve its look before grading. If authentic, not sure why every owner since 1893 has shyed away from getting it in a TPG slab but here we are....

Thanks, Jack sent Skip a note but based on the analysis @Mr. Numismatist and @johnmilton did things are not looking too good for this coin. I'm hoping we here from Skip.
