After buying coins from the mint for almost 30 years I received my proof sets today and in one of the sets the Presidential dollars are badly spotted. I am going to return them for a replacement. Does the the mint pay for return shipping? Also should I send them insured? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Tom
I returned something last year. I believe I had to pay for the return postage. Insurance is cheep with the USPS. Took a little over a month to get a replacement. Good Luck Darryl
You pay return postage. Ins or del. Confirmayion IF you want to. I have 1 of 5 ASE UNC that is spotted and the case is cracked. I wonder if they'll even take it back
I received my silver proof set yesterday and the nickle has some kind of defect that I think I read today is called a gap or something like that. It looks like the metal is ripped out of the coin just above the eye.
This is what I've been told too. just pay for the return shipping and once you get your new one call and ask them to credit you for the shipping.
Worked for me last year on the Silver Proof sets.....and yes, you have to call ask.....not a very proactive bunch on returning money lol
It'll be a bear because working with the mint is just like working with any other government agency, and we all know how much beauracratic red tape they produce.
i lost $50 in shipping last year by returning products i did not now they returned s/h well now i know . thanks.
