A little CRH dimes while listening to CNBC this morning. As found. My 4th circulation find. Enjoy
A little water soak and the acetone will follow
    I’ll then update IMG_2951.jpeg photos

Business Strike 1982 No P. An AU50 lists at NGC for $100. Not sure if it is the “weak strike” variety.

Wait a sec..... Now I am admittedly NOT an error follower. I collect history myself..... But as I thought I had understood it the 1982 dime less mintmark was supposed to be a rare find only in proof. Am I misunderstanding?

How do you differentiate a regular Phil struck mint coin from the no mint mark coin?

I didn't realize it was a thing. I wonder if any have gone through my hands?

The Red Book is your friend. Knowing that mint marks were continued on the obverse starting in 1980 it follows that you see a Roosevelt from ‘82 without one you know to dig deeper.

The other side of that coin (see what I did there?)… is ALSO knowing that no mint sets were produced in ‘82 nor ‘83 helps you ferret out what you have found. And knowing that even though no mint sets were made, the Mint did make proof sets.

All of this can be learned from a late-model Red Book, but perusing the NGC and PCGS price guides will yield the answers too. They list the No P and No S issues.
Both sources help you define your discoveries. There are many other sources.
