Bought this one on a local site for $10 , its nice to know where it was found , most Southern part of the Netherlands on the riverbank of the Maas. Already owned an older heavier one of 20 gram from around 200 BC.
Sweet bronze. I may add one soon enough. This is the year when I start to add bronze to my collection.
For the Dutch , Maastricht - Valkenburg area in Limburg is like being abroard Every year in September the Paper money Fair is located in Valkenburg, Europe's largest paper currency bourse, coins for sale too.
I don't have one to share but that's very cool you it was found "locally" and a very good price! Winner!
I love the Netherlands! It's my first love. It was the very first European country that I ever visited!
I hate the Netherlands , as soon as I get my pension I'm off to a country where the sun shines. Like Florida,Spain or Portugal.
Sweet Semis, Andres ... congrats on scoring that cool example Ummm, I also have a neat Semis example ... wanna see it? => "S" is for Saturn and Semis!!
Thanks for the tips for other Sunshine countries , have a long time to figure it out, dutch government keeps pushing up the pension age, which now stands at 67 Wonder about the weight of the Semis of JBGood and Stevex6 Here is another Semis much earlier coin from around 200 BC hefty 20 grams.
Same story in Belgium. 67 is the new deadline Btw I live not far from Maastricht and Valkenburg. In any case, cool coin! You made a bargain at this price.
Andres, if it is any consolation, the legal retirement age in Germany has also gone up - mine now stands at 66.... I can retire at 63 IF I am willing to take a cut from my pension, in my case about 10,5% reduction. Believe, me I'll take the cut and go earlier! Regarding a 'little place in the sun', I'am glad I took a colleague's advice back in 2010 and bought a vacation home in Florida......so that is where we are heading, at least for the duration of the northern european winter, as soon as my job, our children and the tax-man allow

I like your giraffe Semis ! Alegandron, wonder if these animals were transported this way out of Africa or is the bow of the galley made in the form of a giraffe. New Pension plan of the Netherlands:
