I'm primarily a Mexico 8 Reales collector, but a few weeks ago finally got my hands on a 20th century Mexico type set Dansco album, so will be putting that together
This is my coolest gold 2 pesos. I make a habit out of picking up 2 and 2.5 pesos as often as possible .
Something I put together a couple of years ago. Have added a few since https://www.cointalk.com/threads/estados-unidos-mexicanos-a-history-of-modern-coinage.249575/
I guess I should post some pics lol. Here are some of the ones I have, including an Angel de Libertad theme. I like to collect different types, instead of varieties/years of a type, so all my Mexican coins are different. And, I believe that the 1957 Un Peso is a Proof-Like Cameo strike.
I enjoy Mexican coins. I get the bullion versions of the Libertads . Back in 2015 I bought a 5 coin proof Libertad set. Comes with 1 oz and fractional coins. Low mintage and they look very nice. I also bought the bullion versions of the Pre Colombian series. Very nice coins for sure!! I have a few of the modern commemorative coins. I wish I could get more but they seem hard to find. Haven't found many dealers that stock them. Plus the Mexican mint, for unknown reasons, doesn't sell to the US. My family is from Mexico but doesn't live near the few Mint stores in the country. You would think with all the people, of Mexican descent, that it would be a prime opportunity to sell coins in the US. Oh well.
This is one I'll have graded at some point. Even with the flawed planchet I'm curious what they would say. 1914 2 pesos
Hmm...let's see...am I a fan of Mexican coins... Here's....some of my Mexican collection (mostly just the silver and a few of the better coins, not counting any of the copper/silver coins already 2x2'ed): Just in case someone was wondering, no, the older silver pile is NOT for sale (every time I post them, someone will PM me offering to buy them.)
I worry every time I post a type of coin, that is new to my collecting ability's. I am glad this thread came up. Years ago I bought and gave my Dad a close and open 9, 1939 Libertad. I bought a few today, I thought they were good examples.
