A coin type I never thought I would own, Drusus. Picked this up awhile ago, but just now getting around to sharing it. Picked it up at a great price! Tiberius & Drusus ( 14 - 37 A.D.) AR Drachm CAPPADOCIA, Caesarea-Eusebia O: [TI C]AES AVG PM TRP XXXV, Laureate head of Tiberius right. R: DRVSVS CAES TI] AVG F COS II R P, Head of Drusus left. Caesarea in Cappadocia mint 33- 34 A.D. 3.47g 19mm RIC I 87; RPC I 3622. Syd 46
That's a nice one. It still has a decent amount of the legend and the full faces, and a nice amount of detail preserved. A total winner @Mat . If you don't mind, what did you pay for it? If you don't want to say it here, could you PM me?
A nice coin with decent portraits. It pairs well with my coin from Caesarea NERO AR Drachm OBVERSE: NERO CLAVD DIVI CLAVD F CAESAR AVG GERM, laureate head of Nero right. REVERSE: DIVOS CLAVD AVGVST GERMANIC PATER AVG, Claudius' laureate head right Struck at Caesarea, Cappodocia, 63/4AD 3.6g, 17mm RIC 621, RSC 3, RPC 3648
Oh Man, @Mat , great job! These Caesars as a good example have been so elusive for me. I have a Frankenstein Version... RI Nero and Drusus Caesar under Tiberius Carthago Nova mint AE As 14-37 CE And a rugged / ragged version: RI Drusus Caesar AE As 28mm - Restor Issue under Titus
I'm just gonna come out and say it's Ok to "like" posts, but I actually enjoy reading comments then getting likes. The like system seems to have make comments less necessary. This is why I don't post new buys often or fast. I was expecting a bit more replies on a coin like this, but instead, it's liked and shoved to page two in less then 24hrs. Sorry, but it is pretty damn annoying.
I'm inclined to agree, but I don't get annoyed. I know my coins are not the finest, but it's what I can afford and still enjoy the hobby. Comments are always appreciated.
I get annoyed at posts that say they have nothing to say so I try to avoid making them. Sorry if that offends. I know so little about Drusus that there is nothing I could say.
I chalk it up to CT being fairly active, and not to the quality of any individual post, thread, or coin.
I'm guilty of hitting the like button rather than commenting. I do have a Drusus As, but I'm not sure its worth sharing haha.
I understand your frustration @Mat and I'm more like Doug here (think I've said that twice today). It looks like a good coin but I don't know enough about them to really intelligently reply. I don't have any coins with a bust on the obverse and reverse or from Tiberius or Drusus
