Below is my other 1999 25C Pennsylvania 95% O/C MS66, after a Reholder PCGS put the Stateside backwards, facing out the Reverse of the Holder *Eyeroll*.






I'll be on the lookout for more Statehood Quarters Off-Center 90-95% showing just the state names.

Interesting start to a different kind of collection.

 

It sure was nice of them to just get enough to ID in the 5 % of the coin that's there... careful die placement.

 

There is no wrong way to collect coins. What a cool concept.

 

It's humorous to see these coins with grades on them that were never circulated.

I can hear the grader's discussion.........."This one was more nicely struck".

I have never heard anyone pass on the details of how a grader comes up with a grade. I wouldn't say that it is guessing, the planchets will still show wear, and even circulation. What I wonder though does the planchet roughness come into play?

 

Amazing errors. I bet you searched a long time and high and low to find your examples.

Thank you Barney McRae, it's a beginning. I'm hoping to find others and will post updates here as I acquire them. I feel that it's going to be a long road to fill this collection lol, I have alot of patients though...

 

Thanks Pickin and Grinin!! I believe condition does matter regarding the unstruck portions of Off-Center Errors, as Blanks and Planchets get grades. I own and have seen Blanks and Planchets with grades from 60 to 69 in both Proof and MS grades.
