Knowing what you have, and what it is just by looking at it should be a gimmie after all you bought it, you should know what it is...LOL
Personally, I do not use them. Many dealers use them and write in code to remind them what they paid for the note. Usually have the label on the back of the sleeve. Try Office Depot or Staples.
Steve I have labels of various sizes. I'm 74, and thinking about providing identification for the benefit of my children (5). Plus, if I have 15 ones, I don't want to sort through them to find a mule note or whatever. And, I guess I'm just a neat freak, so was wanting to establish a system while I'm just starting.
How sophisticated do you want to get? i didnt realize that you were labeling for Someone else in that case, you can go to any stationary store and pick up the size labels that will fit the information that you want on it, for instance Here,s an example how the TPG,S due it: Country Catalog No. Series Denomination Type Variety The above will tell your Children everything about the note that is in the holder If you need further assistance in looking things up feel free to PM me, would be more then happy to help
I used a Brother Label Printer connected to my computer. With the software provided with the printer I designed a standard label.
I haven't really considered labeling my notes before as I have them in sleeves in order by series and denomination. I can see the benefits in specifically labeling the sleeves if you're dealing with specialty notes such as mules, FW 295 errors or webs and you want your heirs to know what you have. I also feel labeling holders is especially helpful when you have notes from other countries that are in an exotic language and you can't tell the country of origin, the date or denomination, etc. just by looking at them.
