Look at the clear die error chipping across the face. Also notice the left sternocleidomastoid muscle of the neck and how prominent it is.


Additionally the quote on the obverse looks a bit unusual and the UNITED on the reverse appears to be bulging out

I don’t see how the chip across the front face could be post mint damage since it’s so deep and uniform without any significant elsewhere abnormalities

Sorry but what you have is just a damaged coin. There is no way to know what caused the damage.

 

That is a gouge across the face of George. What you have is a damaged coin with medium wear.

 

If this was a strike though there would be no displacement of metal and your coin most definitely shows it. I agree with the others, a scratch!

Not everything that looks different, strange or weird is automatically a mint error.
There are many ways coins can become altered or damaged after they leave the US Mints.

That is no mint error of any kind unfortunately
