Probus / Mars Advancing

    Saw this Probus with the Mars advancing with branch, shield and spear on the Rx and pulled the trigger:) Looks better in hand. Axial lighting for the pics seamed to work best. I may use some verdicare to get some more of the dirt stains off but maybe not? A distilled water soak got to its present condition.

    PROBVS PF AVG, radiate, cuirassed bust right
    MARTI PACIF, Mars walking left, holding branch, spear and shield.

    Nice, Part of the Rome coded series too.

    Very nice. My favorite Probus has it all: a radiate crown, a helmet, a cuirass, a shield, a left-facing bust, a scepter, a snake ... Probus Salus.jpg

    And that one is from the Ticinum coded series.

    Thanks Maridvnvm I appreciate the info:) Is there an reference for the "coded series"? I feel like I should be aware of this series but am ignorant of what it is.
