L Mussidius Longus Denarius--Fulvia as Victory

    Interesting coin with a Marc Antony connection. It's not the highest grade specimen, but I like it.

    Obv: Bust of Marc Antony's 3rd wife, Fulvia, as Victory, r., draped.
    Rev: L MVSSIDIVS LONGVS, Victory in biga, r., holding reins.

    As I've said many times, there is something about a worn coin that just is plain pleasing. Knowing it probably circulated for many years before it was hidden away stimulates my imagination. I love your new coin.

    It's a beautiful type with what some consider the best portrait of the Roman Republican series. Yours has been well circulated, but you can still see how pleasing the portrait is. Congratulations.
