My LCS, in Glenwood, MN. https://www.centrallakescoins.com/ Todd (left) and Ray Gylsen: These guys are an absolute pleasure to work with. I’ve done “want list” coins multiple times and they’ll call/text/send pics from shows with what they find. My ancient owl coin and classic Lincoln commemorative are two pieces that came to my collection from their legwork. They have a classic head cent on the list currently. The last time I was over there, when I snapped the above photo, it was a rather slow day in the shop so I was able to sit and talk coins for over an hour. I did not have an LCS growing up, and I made the hobby work for me with what I had available to me, but now, in my more “seasoned” years of collecting, it is a joy to have these guys available to converse with in person and help keep my collecting fire burning. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to get ready to head over to my LCS to bring them a raw Wildman coin recently purchased from @Randy Abercrombie . They’re going to bring it to the Chicago show in a couple weeks to hand it to the NGC folks.
Congrats on your new milestone! It is really great to have local coin stores. Luckily, I have three within a ten minute or less drive. They each have their specialties.
One of my favorite coin shops in NYC Closed Permanently at their second location. Both were neat shops. But no more. There aren't that many in this city, so it really sucks!
