Does anyone know the dimensions of the Levick Plate? It was a direct print-to-page negative, so I'd like to find out how big the negative was to get an idea of the camera size needed. Also, what were the dimensions of the printed AJN issue in which it was published?
I think https://nnp.wustl.edu/library/book/514544 has the info you want. Page 228 - article by Jim Neiswinter.
Thanks for the info. I have a copy of this article, but it's about the individual obverse and reverse test plates Levick made, not the final combined image. However, one could reasonably assume the plates were about the same size. While there is plenty of discussion about the negative and printing technique, there is little about the camera system used to capture it, so it's hard to confirm.
I should have assumed you had this article. I figured those dimensions in the first paragraph were the sizes you needed. I have to admit, I know nothing about the Levick Plate, so other than finding the original AJN article (if that would even help), I'm not sure where else to go for your answers. Time for me to read the Neiswinter article, and learn a little!
I have the original AJN article as well, but I have had no luck there. I have about 10 articles about this plate. One, I don't have; Levick kept a notebook of the entire process, and I wonder if there is anything in there.
