Nice one John, congrats. Etruria As are hard to find. ETRURIA Rasenna, Fufluna, (Etruria, Populonia) 1-As: (Similar to a Roman AR - nothing - only an As is Bronze in Roman Currency) Etruria Populonia AR 1 As 0.60g 10.0mm after 211 BCE Obv: Male Head Left Rev: Plain Rev Ref: Vecchi 3 68-70 HN Italy 181 Seller/Auction comment: RARE
Thanks! I have only ever seen one of these in gold. Artemide had this, and a AV 10 Asses in same auction. I ended up getting both coins. The auction fotos do no justice to the coins. Both look pristine close up. This showed up in their video display. Amazingly it (As) is smaller then Regensburg AV 1/32 Dukat 1700 or Marathan Confederacy AV 1/4 Fanam.! I wonder if they will ever find out who struck these in Etruria.
Well, you need to plunk down your Tenner! 10 Asses 10-Asses: (Similar to a Roman AR Denarius) Etruria Populonia AR 10 Asses 20mm 4.21g 211-206 BC Obv: Male Hd Rev: Blank die break
