Thought it worth a mention, since I found one of these in circulation earlier. This is probably not news to most people, but some people I've talked to didn't even know these existed, so thought I'd make a short post about them. For some reason, either to just get more money or to get more people interested (in order to make more money probably lol) the Mint started making San Francisco-minted business strikes of the National Park quarters in 2012. Technically the first time San Francisco minted business strikes of circulation coins not intended to circulate would have been in 1971, making 40% silver versions of Eisenhower dollars. The "blue Ikes" (so- called because they were sold in blue envelopes) were only sold to collectors. (Silver proof versions were sold in faux wood boxes and thus were nicknamed "brown Ikes.") So for the sake of completion, S-minted, NIFC, business strike versions of circulating coins: Eisenhower dollars (blue Ikes): 40% silver, 1971-1974 (Will mention here rare 1973-S business strike clad Eisenhower dollars have been found, essentially wrong planchet errors; presumably somehow planchets meant for clad proofs, not getting their proof polishing, managed to get struck by dies intended for 40% silver uncirculated Eisenhower dollars.) Bicentennial coinage: 40% silver versions of the bicentennial Washington quarter, JFK half dollar, and Eisenhower dollar, sold in silver uncirculated bicentennial sets (dated 1776-1976, these were minted from 1975 to 1976). SBA dollars: The 1981-S Susan B. Anthony dollar was only sold in uncirculated sets, and in sets only containing that year's SBA dollars (1981-P and 1981-D were also NIFC and came in these sets). Worth noting here that the 1980-S business strike SBA dollar was the last coin the San Francisco Mint ever minted for general circulation. "America the Beautiful" National Park quarters: From 2012 (starting with the El Yunque Puerto Rico quarter) to 2021 (Tuskegee Airmen Alabama quarter) S-minted business strike quarters were made and sold directly to collectors. (I've found one of these in circulation. Each individual issue had a mintage of about a million give or take a few thousand, and are issue by issue rarer than the W-minted quarters, though demand for them is a lot less). (For whatever reason, there was no S-minted business strike of the 2021 Crossing the Delaware design.) American Women quarters: From 2022-2025 they made S-minted business strike versions of all the American Women quarters.
