Wow, I love a lot of those coins ...

... man, if I had enough money to bid on a handful of those sweet coins, then I wouldn't have any money by the end of that fricken auction!! (I'd be hitch-hikin' home with a couple of Syracuse coins and a sack-full of those gorgeous golden archaic-punch coins!!)

Could not agree more with Steve. I got my heart set on two coins(all I can afford):(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(!
Last Triton Auction, I got three beauties....all from India circa 300AD to 1450AD.
Problem is as always, so many auctions/coins:) so little $ to win them! Also, since I collect all periods in history.....even more tempting goodies.

I don't look at it either! I toss it on my ever growing stack.

I consulted the big crystal ball (a.k.a as 'the wife'), and it said (she said) 'I see no new coins in your future'.......

Honestly, with a son going onto 4th year medical school and another entering university this year, I have to agree:(

I will therefore spare myself the pain of browsing this or any other catalogue.

I've just seen that the lot 72 (Syracuse tetradachm) has been withdrawn.
It can be seen here: https://www.numisbids.com/n.php?p=lot&sid=1785&lot=72

    image00072.jpg

SICILY, Syracuse. Second Democracy. 466-405 BC. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 16.11 g, 8h). Struck circa 466-460 BC. Charioteer, holding kentron in right hand, reins in both, driving slow quadriga right; above, Nike flying right, crowning horses with open wreath held in both hands; in exergue, ketos right / Head of Arethousa right, wearing pearl tainia, single-pendant earring, and necklace; ΣVR-A-KO-ΣIOИ and four dolphins around. Boehringer Series XIIIa, 410 (V212/R289); HGC 2, 1309; SNG ANS 408; SNG Fitzwilliam 1208 (same rev. die); SNG Lloyd 1308 (same obv. die); BMC 71 (same rev. die); Boston MFA 359 = Warren 341 (same obv. die). Near EF, toned, a few minor metal flaws.

From the Dr. Patrick H. C. Tan Collection. Ex Nomos Obolos 2 (14 June 2015), lot 36.

At first sight, I see nothing wrong with this coin. Has anyone any idea why it has been withdrawn?

Carausius Brother, can you spare a sestertius?

I'll be at that stage myself in about 6 years. I need to start planning for my kids' college educations. Here's a plan: I'll go for the high value targets now, then settle into lower cost Republican struck bronzes when the kids are in college. ;)

I have my crosshairs on one AV Western Roman Empire coin.....if that fails/a Celtic Stater;);););););););););)
However, if both end up in bidding frenzy, there is always Kunker auctions.

I also wonder why. I wish someone in the know would explain it to us.

Yeah, I once bid on a FDC 1/4 Dukat of Josef I Holy Roman Emperor Breslau Mint. I won the coin/but Macho & Chloplic Auction withdrew the coin. They explained that the owner had a chance of heart and wanted to keep his coin. I probably would have kept it too!

Ardatirion might be able to enlighten us.

I also notice that lots 333, 334, and 335 were withdrawn. Initially the indication was that they were withdrawn for review re import restrictions. Now it has been changed to "withdrawn for review."
